How do you get makeup out of a wedding dress?

When Itook off the wedding dress I got some makeup on the inside of the dress, it just rubbed against my face. I am giving my dress to my cousin and I want to off the makeup. What can I do to remove the makeup stain so I wont ruin the wedding dress??????? If I do soap and what will it just smear the makeup on the dress? How do you get makeup out of a wedding dress?
Trying to do it at home could ruin the fabric and just make the stain look worse... a dry cleaner will fix it right up for you and make it new and fresh for your cousin! How do you get makeup out of a wedding dress?

cream soda
The key to getting it off is...You don't even try!!! Take it to a professional dry cleaner and do it ASAP! The longer you wait, the longer it has to set. Bring your makeup with you if at all possible so they can see exactly what you used...that might be a very big help to them in picking out what type of cleaner to use to remove the make-up.
Take it to a professional cleaning place, they will do the best job.....
Take it to a cleaner. They are professionals who know wthat they are doing. Most likely, anything anyonr says here is a guess that could RUIN THE FACBRIC!!!

Just take it to the cleaners, trust me.
Call a wedding gown store like 'David's bridal' here in WA state. They may have the answer. They should know how to take care of them.
try putting make up remover to it,

or soda water

What should I do for wedding makeup?

I am struggling to decide whether or not to have my makeup professionally done for my wedding. I want it to look nice, but, I can't see paying someone to do it since I do know how to put makeup on. I was thinking of going to a makeup counter or store and having a beauty consult done and going from there. I think it would be cheaper, but I'm not sure. Also, some of my bridesmaids are ';makeup deficient'; if you will. Should I have them go on consults too? What should I do for wedding makeup?
I had the same 'wedding' problem just it was with my hair :-) I have a good sence of beauty but on my wedding I decided to try something more special and went to the hairdresser ;-) She started to make some 'special' things but at the middle of the process I decided I didnt like my hair - that was not me at all. I jumped up and said I dint like it that way.If you just could see my hairdressers eyes.';What are you going to do now?'; asked she. ';I am going to wet my hair and do something that I will feel comfortable with.'; was my answer :-D I bet shed never had another bride like me on the chair :-D So I went home, stood before the mirror and although averybody arround me was in a hurry I really enjoyed doing my hair. On my wedding day one of my aunts asked WHERE THEY HAD DONE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HAIRSTYLE FOR ME!!!

Heres the conclusion : whatever you do, if you feel comfortable with yourself, everybody will think youre just perfect!!!

So if you are good at make up, then you have an already formed taste for what suits you. If you think you dont understand how to do it, than anything would do just fine for you :-) In your case, however, its more likely for you to cope better yourself than anybody elese on your own face. May be there are some good make up artists who would do really better but is your wedding the time for experiments?! Or at least go for a test make up several days before the event.

Youve mentioned the words 'paying' and 'cheapper'. If money is a problem for you, then you put priorities first. As I feel by reading your question you will do just fine with your own make up. Go for it. I did my make up alone and I felt briliantly on my wedding. I knew what I wanted and it was all that mattered.

About your bridesmaids...may be you could organize a make up artist for them before the wedding, after they get dressed, and give him/her your opinion on how you would like them to be done (heavier or liter make ups, what colors...etc) Then let this person do it for them. If expensive, ask some talented friend to do it for you as a wedding present. Your girls will feel special because you have brought a make up profecionalist especially for them and you will feel comfortable that they are ok on your wedding ...and the wedding pictures will be fine ;-)

As for the type of the make up - make some experiments on your face beforehand if you need anything ask some friends to land you something. You will see the difference in between the materials yourself - you have a taste - you said :';I dont want to look like...'; Thats enough ;-)What should I do for wedding makeup?
I had my makeup done professionally on my wedding day. The day of I was so busy putting together the final details of the wedding that I was happy to have the makeup artist come and do my makeup on site. It was the best thing that I could have done because it was one less thing that I had to worry about.

It's not only about how good they do the makeup, it's also about saving time. Do you have a wedding planner to take care of the wedding planning the day of the event? (I didn't have one). If not, don't even think about going anywhere to have your makeup done. You'll have less time than you think and this is your day to be pampered anyway!

Also, for your bridesmaids, it would be a good idea for the ';makeup deficient'; to get their makeup done at a counter or a salon that does both hair and makeup. At MAC, you can make an appointment for a consult (so they can be done on time) and have them bring a picture of the bridesmaid dress so the artist will know how to do the makeup.

Your foundation depends upon your skin type. The heavier the coverage, the better it will look in photographs BUT it will be uncomfortable to wear throughout the reception. Keep your skin in the best condition so that you can use less. My makeup artist chose a Clarins foundation (not too heavy but pigmented enough to cover a last minute pimple that showed up).
I think if you have been doing your makeup yourself and know how and are happy with it, do it yourself for your wedding. If your friends are ';makeup deficient'; they should probably have a consult done, but ultimately it's up to them. The way their makeup looks isn't going to matter than much. You are the focus in the pictures. Unless any of them use really outrageous makeup, but it doesn't sound like that it their problem.
I think you should look like you on your wedding day if you can apply make up well do it yourself or have a friend help out that knows how you like it. If you want a lil more sparkle find some body shimmer for your neck and cheeks to add a special glow
If you go to the Mac counter, they do your makeup for free but you have to buy at least 40 bucks in makeup from them. They do a wonderful job!
Im not sure if there is a Merril Norman where you live but they do a wonderful job on makeup and its free. You can also call your local spas and ask to speak to the Esthetician. They sometimes have great rates on make-up. Also check the malls. They have Mac counters and they do makeup for free. Im not sure if you have to purchase products to receive the makeup application from Mac though. Good Luck. Have it done proffessionaly.
I would schedule an appointment with a make up counter. Most of the time, you don't have to pay for it. They would like you to buy something. My friends and I have always purchased the lip color. It makes it nice to be able to reapply with the same color. Make it fun, and all go together. I would suggest Clinique.
Personally, I prefer the way my makeup looks when I do it myself.

I like to keep my makeup pretty minimal and natural looking, and when I have it professionally done, I think they use too much and I just don't think I look like myself.
u can go to the mall and get a makeover for free
If it is a fairly large wedding it would be worth it to have a professional do the job on the day.

It is a big photography day, and you will need to wear more makeup so your face shows up better in the pictures and you look gorgeous. A professional can put a lot more makeup on you, while avoiding the caked on look. You don't want to look washed out in the pictures.
Even if you don't do it for the actual wedding, it would be a fun thing to do with your bridesmaids to go out and get your make-up done at a make-up counter. This might help those who are ';make-up deficient'; a reason to want to look really good for the wedding. I did my own make-up and my cousin came in and said ';You're make-up looks great! Who did it?';

Go for elegance, a classy clean look for your wedding day. Practice in the days before so you can do it yourself. Have your bridesmaids over ahead of time and help them out.

One thing to remember, blend the make-up down the jaw line to the neck...know what I mean? You don't want a line at the edge of your face.
Well, let's start with the bridesmaids. Unless, you're planning on paying for all of them, it's not nice to demand that your bridesmaids have their make up professionally done. If some of them are more talented with the blush brush than others, ask them to lend a hand. That way, no one is offended and everyone looks nice.

As for your own makeup, get it professionally done, one way or another. You'll show up better in the pictures without looking like you just globbed on mascara yourself. You spend so much money on your wedding photography, you want to make sure you look nice in the pictures.
Ask around and friend a friend or relative who is good at this.. and have a tea type thing where you can all have your makeup done that day together.. that would be fun and you can match up a little. I am thinking Mary Kay consultant.. they have all the make up and palets and everything. Maybe you could throw her a few bucks, but the big thing is she'll be glad to help out for advertisement.
I think you should go for a professional even though you are good because they will have all the expensive top products and it will save you alot of hassle from worrying about whether it goes wrong and they can help you with best colours to suit you etc.

If you want the wedding to be beautiful and perfect then they should go to consultants if you want them to. After all it is your wedding, so your choice!!
Put a bag over your head. No one will notice anyway.
Merrel Norman does it for free too... set up an appointment...but they won't do the whole wedding party. Or if you have a good Friend that you know is good at doing make up ask her to come to the wedding early enough to do it for you....Believe me...most people won't notice anyway...unless of course you look like a clown did it for you...HA HA
If you find a good make up artist, you won't have that caked on look. I would suggest going with a professional just because they have tricks to ';set'; your make up so that it lasts throughout the day, and this is important since it will be a day filled with picture taking! My make up artist was awesome and she only charged me $75, which was a great deal compared to some others I spoke with.
I had my makeup done at a clinque counter in the mall one time. It was free, but you had to buy $15 worth of products. It was worth it to me.

How do I do my sister's hair and makeup for her wedding?

My 18 year old sister is getting married in Las Vegas next week. She is on a very tight budget and I will be with her. She cannot afford to have her hair and make-up done.

I am proficient at applying make-up, I just would like some color ideas for a wedding.

Her hair is the big issue, she has thick shoulder length (no layers) dark brown hair. It is straight and reletivly easy to work with.

To give you an idea of her looks and coloring, think of Sandra Bullock, they could be twins.

Any help would be appraciated. How do I do my sister's hair and makeup for her wedding?
Nothing too severe. loose curls or a loose 'up' do would be nice. with maybe a few small (tiny) flowers in hair or maybe just a flower at the side, that wold be cute.

As for makeup it should be natural as people want to look at her not her makeup.

Good luck and congrats to your sisterHow do I do my sister's hair and makeup for her wedding?

Where in the chicagoland do I find someone to do makeup for a wedding?

I need one for March 21st 2009. Suggestions?Where in the chicagoland do I find someone to do makeup for a wedding?
I am getting married Feb 28 and here are a few suggestions I was given

    1. A lot of salons that also do hair, do makeup and some have what they call a ';bridal package'; which in the price is included a trial run of both hair and make up before the big day, then hair and make up on the big day.

    2. Clinique (which is usually located in Carson's stores) do make overs and usually just want you to buy some of their product in order to do your make up, but usually only $30 worth, which can be cheaper than places that just do your make up and you get some make up out of it.

    Good luck!

It sounds great either way. to look really dressy do an updo. %26amp; leave just a few strands hanging down in the sides %26amp; back if you want.

About your make-up. use a white hi-lighter %26amp; advise others of the wedding party to do so also. it brings the light to your face ,making your pictures turn out better %26amp; accentuates your good features.

I'd do just a tad more since you'll be in front of a crowd %26amp; having pic's taken-it needs to show up more especially on your eyes. What colors your picking for your bridesmaids would look good somewhere incorporated in your make-up. like if they're wearing peach, use a similar color for your cheeks %26amp; lips-oh-put some gloss on too. If it's not a cheeky color use it on somewhere like a hint of it on your eyes maybe if you like. God bless you on your committment.
I found some good pics for you

I need help doing my makeup for my wedding in two weeks?

Hi! I'm getting married in two and I'm so nervous. I want everything perfect. My hair is strawberry blonde and my skin color is tan. My dress is white and I'm wearing a blue diamond necklace. Any suggestions on color and tips for makeup?I need help doing my makeup for my wedding in two weeks?
CONGRATS! Anyway, I would recomend going out to get it done by a professional but if you dont want to I will give you advice on both what makeup to buy, but how to apply it.

First, there are a few things that you will need to buy. Things with a star next to them are for beginners, and the things with a dash in front of them are for when you know how to apply makeup really well. Only buy the things with a dash next to them after you have mastered the ones with the stars. Along with your makeup, you need something to apply your makeup with, so I will list off some brushes that you should buy. Also, when ever you wear makeup, you should always take care of your face. I will also include a list of skin care products that you should have, how to use them, and what brands I recommend later on. With all the lists, stars mean for when you first start, and dashes mean for when you move on. And remember, this does not mean that you need to buy all of the starter things today, but its good to start off with one to all of what I recommend. Take it slowly, and practice each thing a few times before moving onto the next. If you have ANY questions at all on what I said, more tips that you need, what exact color you need (I will need a picture in that case) or other random things, feel free to contact me by email (kdomagala@sbcglobal.net) or AIM (Lactating Dragon).

    Makeup:

    *Foundation

    *Eye shadow

    *Blush

    *Mascara

    *Lip gloss or lipstick

    -Eyeliner

    -Concealer

    -Eyebrow shadow

    -Lip liner

    Brushes:

    *Eye shadow brush

    *Blush brush

    -Eyebrow brush

    -Combo eyebrow brush/eyelash separator

    -Lipstick brush

I put my makeup on in a different order than what I will teach you how to do. After I鈥檓 done with the tips and tricks, I will recommend an order that has worked for me after many years. Another thing you need to remember, I will not teach anyone how to look like they are wearing large amounts of makeup. I do not promote looking like a model for eye makeup because unless it is a late night party or a rave, you do not need to look like that. I will try to teach you the best way possible to do your makeup to not only look natural but to enhance your natural beauty. With that said, lets get started!

First try putting foundation on. If there is one thing that you should start off wearing is foundation. It evens out your skin tone, hides any blemishes, and helps to disguise any small scars that you might have. First start off by putting a little bit of your foundation onto your hand. Next, dab your finger into the foundation and dot it all around your face. After you have little dots of the liquid over your face, rub it in gently. If you are too rough on your face you might get wrinkles later on in life, and that is not a good thing. Try and see how you look. If you realize that you put too much on, wash it off and start over. If you didn鈥檛 put enough, just dab some more onto your face. Just keep trying until you know what amount looks good on you. A special tip from me for applying foundation is to always push it towards the center of your face instead of out towards your hair line. It wont do anything now or for a few years, but after many many years of rubbing the foundation to the outside of your face it will give you wrinkles. Also, use your middle finger or your ring finger to smooth it on. The more gentle you are on your face now, the more you will thank yourself when you are older. A good foundation to wear is true match by L鈥橭real. Here is a link to Walgreen鈥檚 advertising the makeup. When you go in, ask someone to help you figure out what shade would be best for you if you need help. But L鈥橭real is pretty easy to figure out, and if you cant figure it out at all, buy a shade that is close enough. Even if it is a little off, as long as you don鈥檛 put too much on it wont make a huge difference. http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>

For all makeup (lipstick not included) you need to think of what skin type you have. Skin types fall into two major categories: yellow/orange, or blue/red. People with yellow/orange undertones tan instead of burn, and they do not have as sensitive skin as people with blue/red. People with blue/red undertones don鈥檛 tan, but burn to no end. They usually have more sensitive skin than those with yellow/orange. People with yellow/orange undertones look best with browns, yellows, peaches, things like that. Think of the most earthy colors that could be close to a natural skin color. That is what yellow/oranges look good in. For blue/reds, they look good in more pinkish tones. Pinks, reds, bright oranges, purples, berry colored things. Think of the natural colors of berries, exotic flowers, all bright. Those colors look good on people with blue/red undertones.

Next thing that I would suggest buying is mascara. This is the easiest thing to apply in my opinion. Just open up the bottle, and put it on your eyelashes. Start at the base and make a long swoop up. When you are done with your entire eyelash, gently run your fingers across the tips of the eyelash so that you break up any clumps and get rid of any little dots on the end. Here is a good mascara that I use very often: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

After mascara, go and buy some lip gloss or lipstick. This too is easy to apply, just put it on your lips and go on with life. I don鈥檛 really have tips except that you should always use a very moisturizing lipstick, otherwise it will take a lot more to get color. With lip gloss, just pick a much more dramatic color that you want, and put it on. If you look good in a light berry lipstick, pick a deep and dark berry lip gloss because your natural color will show through. Now lets talk about how to find your lip color. Remember what I told you about all your makeup except for lipstick? Well, the reason why is because you switch it when you are wearing lipstick. If you look at your face, most people with yellow/orange skin tones have more pink lips, and people with blue/red undertones have more brown lips. This is because your lipstick should make your lips pop out, and you need to switch the coloring just for this one thing. So if you have yellow/orange undertones, switch it up and pick a color out of the red/blue group. If you have red/blue undertones, try it the other way and go for those earthy browns. Of course, trust your own natural lip color to be your guide. If you have pinkish or red lips, even if you have red/blue undertones find something to enhance that. No matter what the books say on anything, trust your own face first when it comes to finding the right color.

    Lip color: http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>

Next thing I think you should buy is blush. When you put foundation on, sometimes it can cover up that natural pretty glow that you have. It doesn鈥檛 look terrible, but blush can put that glow back in your skin in no time. For this, you will need a blush brush. Buy a blush brush that is soft, but firm at the same time. It should be anywhere between a third and a half of your fist, and should poof out at the end. At first, any type of blush brush will work, but over time you will want softer and better quality ones. What you need to do for blush is if it is a pressed powder blush, rub the brush in the pressed powder, or if it is loose powder then just dip the brush in there. After that, you need to get off some of that blush or it will be too dramatic on your cheeks. Gently hit the base of the brush on your arm, just so that some of it gets off. With what is remaining, smile, and swipe (from the middle of your face to your hair line) on the bulges on your cheeks from smiling. Also, put a tiny tiny bit on your nose. If you have a wide nose, you can put a tiny tiny bit on the sides of your nose to create the appearance of a shadow. This will make it look slightly smaller. However, DO NOT OVER DO IT! When it comes with trying to apply any type of makeup, try with the smallest amount possible, and then gradually increase the amount until you find something that looks good on you.

    For blue/red undertones: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

    For yellow/orange undertones: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

Last thing for beginners is eye shadow. There is one and only one eye shadow that I will recommend to you, and if you go out and buy only one thing that I suggest, please let it be this. Almay makes amazing eye shadow to start out with, but to make it better鈥?They just came out a while ago with their new color trios. What that means is that they have eye shadows that have three different colors in them, and they are designed to fit your individual eye color. Good news people: Almay just took all the guess work out of buying eye shadow. Did you always want to bring out that blue? Do you have multicolored eyes with green the most prominent color but it just doesn鈥檛 seem that way? Do you think that your brown eyes are boring and could be so much better if only you could find the right eye makeup? If you ever thought anything like that, Almay has the product for you. They have three rectangles of colors in a row. The top goes from the crease to the brow, the middle goes on the crease, and the bottom goes on the eyelid. This is how you apply it. You take your eye shadow brush (any kind, but it should be about half the size of your pinky to about two thirds of your pinky), swipe it across the color, do the tapping thing like you did with the brush and apply it to the area that it tells you to. First, put the bottom color all over your eye lid. Second, take the top color and put it everywhere from your brow to the crease. Third, take the middle color and put it in between the crease. I need to emphasize the point I made earlier: eye makeup should enhance your eyes, not make you look like a clown. Again, start out as light as you can get and increase the depth if you feel the need to. Even the slightest amount will make your eyes pop.

    http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor鈥?/a>

Because this is intended for beginners, I will not go into detail on other areas of makeup. I will however tell you what you need to do to take care of your skin. Skin care products are more expensive than makeup, so I will make a list of things that you need, in the order that you should buy them. Taking care of your skin is so important because after years of makeup, it gets harder and harder to cover up your age. If you don鈥檛 want to look wrinkled by the time you are 40, you MUST start now! All of these get stars because although some may be more urgent than others, you should collect all of them within a year or so.

    Skin care:

*Good cream cleanser that removes makeup

    *Moisturizer

    *Eye makeup remover

    *Toner

    *Exfoliating scrub

    *Eye cream

First, you MUST buy a good cleanser NOW! I recommend this cleanser: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

You use it exactly as you would soap.

Next, you need a good moisturizer. This is what I use: http://www.kohls.com/products/kohls_BB_G鈥?/a>

Next, eye makeup remover is important, especially with mascara. The one I like best is: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

Toner is also a good idea to have because it gets rid of oils that make you look greasy but don鈥檛 make you look dried out. Here is the one I use every single day: http://www.kohls.com/products/kohls_BB_G鈥?/a>

You should also buy an exfoliating scrub because it removes all dead skin and makes you look amazing. The best one I have seen yet is also by grassroots, and the quality is too good for the price: http://www.kohls.com/products/kohls_BB_G鈥?/a>

My favorite piece of skin care is eye cream, but that鈥檚 because I have light skin, very dark hair and bright green eyes. So I spend more time making my eyes look better so that that鈥檚 what stands out on my face the most. When you spend as much time as I do on your eyes, you need something to keep them soft and bright. The other products that I have given you for skin care are good suggestions, but if you were to buy each and every type of skin care product that I recommended, but only one of them was going to be the exact product, I would recommend the eye cream by grassroots. It leaves your eyes with a slight warming feeling to calm them down, and you will wake up with your eyes soft and amazing the first night you use it, and it only gets better from then. Remember, eye cream is only for at night time: http://www.kohls.com/products/kohls_BB_G鈥?/a>

Well, that鈥檚 it. I hope you have a good time trying things out, and make sure to take care of your sin. If you have any questions, you can send me an instant message or email me any time!I need help doing my makeup for my wedding in two weeks?

Yes. The most important thing you can do is to not go over the top! Resist the urge to look like someone other than yourself. When you look back at your wedding pictures, you will want to see you, not some clown. Be as classy and natural as possible. Try a consultation with Mary Kay. That way you can try out several looks in the privacy of your own home.
Blue eyeshadow, and a pale shimmery pink lipstick/gloss.

You might want light blue eyeshadow to go with the necklace a light shimmering body powder and a Dark Reddish natural color for the lips I hope your marriage works out perfectly!!
Check out the Mary Kay Bridal page at http://www.marykay.com/daryn_anderson/wh鈥?/a> There are so many ideas!! I hope this helps.
With your coloring, I would go with some pastels or possibly some coral colors.

It's hard not to be nervous for your wedding but try to breathe and use some soft powder to not shine too much.

    Have a great married life!
Actually since I sell Mary Kay I know that a beauty consultant can come to your home and give you a facial and totally help you out with choosing the right makeup for you special day! Some consultants even go to you wedding and help with you makeup and even help the bridesmaids out! To look for a beauty consultant in your area please go to www.marykay.com good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!
The most important thing you have to remember is, good coverage with the foundation. You must mosturize first (with a simple lotion), in order for your foundation to set correctly. Apply an even layer of foundation, blending towards your hairline. Line your eyes with a subtle blue (if you have blue eyes) or black/brown eyeliner (whichever looks best on you %26amp; goes according to your eyecolor). Then you may want to use a subtle blue eyeshadow to allow them to ';pop'; (if you have another color, visit ALMAY's website they have an eye-color coordination eye-makeup case). Almay is also sold at your local Walmart store, costs between 5 and 7 dollars. Then after the eyeshadow, apply your masscara (brush it through your eyelashes horizontally 2 or 3 times, then out as if you were applying them normally. Do not coat more than twice, otherwise it will look messy. After your eye-makeup apply some orangeish-redish (or pinkish depending on the color of your skin %26amp; hair) blush, brush them only on the apples of ur cheek then extend to your hairline. Then apply a orangeish-redish (pinkish as mentioned above) lipstick/lipcolor (in a tube), to your lips. And lastly, apply some Sally Hansen lipgloss for a finishing touch! THE KEY IS TO PRACTICE DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING, to find your true match and to make sure you're able to apply everything perfectly.

    Good luck at your wedding!

P.S. If you don't want to do all the above, then visit your local mall %26amp; ask one of the beauty counters to do your make-up for you. It's free of charge! GOOD LUCK :)

What is the best way to practice my makeup for my wedding day?

It's a spring wedding (april 28th). Coming up soon! What is the best way to practice my makeup for my wedding day?
Go get a make over at a department store and asks the people that work there to give you lots of tips.

A REALLY good foundation for weddings is Dior's new Diorskin Airflash. It's very expensive...60 dollars...but you only get married once right! (Well, supposedly). You spray it on, it's a light mist and it looks flawless and lasts for hours...looks good under any light and is especially good if you're getting lots of pictures taken, doesn't reflect the light. It feels like you have no make up on yet it looks flawless. It's awesome. What is the best way to practice my makeup for my wedding day?
In the lighting you will be in for your day. Don't you wear day and night make-up? Same thing.

Congratulations!!! May you have a great life!!!!
well if ur doing it urself and u want to practice putting it on then everyday when u go somewhere put on the make-up u want to use for ur wedding day.....but if ur not doing it urself and someone else is then don't worry about it, they will know what they r doing....hope that helps and hope ur wedding turns out better then u planed!

How much should I charge to do makeup at a Wedding and for a Sweet Sixteen?

I'm not licensed yet but do Professional makeup. I always do everyones makeup but have never charged. Please help! (I use MAC, Bobbi Brown, Loreal, etc) And will be using my own tools. How much should I charge to do makeup at a Wedding and for a Sweet Sixteen?
Eight dollars sounds about right. How much should I charge to do makeup at a Wedding and for a Sweet Sixteen?
The more make up you do the more you charge, do a reasonably amount...do a survey and ask people how much they think they should be charged.
a professional usually charges about 拢200-300 and if its far then factors in a travle cost. if you're not licensed yet then do it for half that? are u doing hair too or just makeup? my cousin had her hair n makeup done by a proff for her wedding and she charged 拢250. you could also do trial sessions for 拢25 where you do one eye in a difft type of make-up eg natural vs heavy/ shimmer vs matte. this might bring in some interest. also give u chance to meet client if you decide u dont like them for whatever reason (does happen) then you can conveniently be 'busy' on the day they require. also, try and take pics of the makeup u do so that you can build up a portfolio of difft looks that u can create.

you might find friends and fam are reluctant to trump up, but dont forget you are using your products so theres got to be some kind of payback. you could do deals for wedding/sweet sixteen - that you will do upto 4 people for 拢350?

    good luck

    x

ooh just seen the other answers - where do they find these makeup artists with such fab prices?!! guess you'll have to price yourself according to your market.... me and my outlandish ideas!!
dont charge more than 10$ per girl
You could see what others are charging and go by that. I would also look at the cost of supplies, gas to get there, and the time.
    $10 per girl
I did makeup for about three years but am not a professional. I charged $15 for proms and have only applied makeup for a wedding once for $30. I would call a few local salons and ask them what their pricing is, just to have an idea. I believe most of the places here charge $45 no matter what event it is for (which is what I paid for my own wedding).
not my area of expertise, sorry

but if in the unlikely event that it's the supersweet 16 show on mtv charge whatever you want cuz mtv's frontin' every bill regardless
Figure out how much make-up you will use (in dollars) then charge that plus Like $20-30/hour.
depending o what you do mayb about $10
I would charge an hourly rate. It depends on how much experience you have and which makeup companies you have worked with or currently work with. If you are not super experienced I would charge $15 per hour and if you have a ton of experience and the family has $$ then I would charge $50-75 per hour.
the last wedding i did i charged 拢100.

two bridesmaids, bride and mother of the bride.

    hope this helps.
$25-$30 a person, but maybe give a discount for group rates--more than say 10 or 12 people.
If you are in California, no less than $30 per person.
you should charge $100.00 for the whole wedding or sweet sixteen because thats not that much money. the products that you use are nice and you are a begginner so im sure that you are good so start lower and keep getting higher in price if they say that you are good that go up 50 bucks for the next job that you get. oh and if its what you have a passion for than take like lessons or something!

    glad too help

    bibi

p.s. tell them how much you charge and try to raise it becuz u probably deserve more
    $5 - $10 each girl
    Maybe $10-15 depending on style
The fact that you aren't licensed means you should charge less than a licensed professional. How about $10 a girl?
    20 for the sweet 16

    50 for the wedding
$25/hr plus costs. Agree on the makeup and give it to them afterwards.

  • Help To Find A Wonderful Wedding Makeup Artist In Adelaide.?

I am getting married in Adelaide on November 21st 2009. I'm looking for a wonderful makeup artist that knows how to create a stunning look in both life and in our photos.

Whoa. You're getting married on the same day as me!

Err....lol, sorry, I am going to answer your question, your wedding date just took me a little by surprise!

    Let's see...

In my personal opinion, if you want to have a professional and qualified makeup artist, you really need to shop around. If you go for the first one that looks good, you might miss out on one that's better! So you need to keep your options open until you've got all the information you need.

Here's a link to give you some ideas:

    http://www.jodee.com.au/

However, if you don't mind whether a person is qualified, just so long as they're good enough to produce the effect and stunning look you're looking for, you could always ask a friend, or advertise if that would work for you. I'd offer to do it for you, as I love practice and I'm very good with makeup (been doing private makeup for others for 8 years)

but since I'm getting married on the same day it wouldn't work too well! :)

I'd go for someone who either knows you well enough to really understand what you want, or for a makeup artist who can say that they're versatile. Versatility is the key, because if an artist can be flexible about the things they can do, they'll be able to cater much more effectively for you!

So you see, either option could get you the results you want. It's really up to you in the end, since it is your wedding after all.

I hope my advice was helpful to you! :)

Best colors and application for eye makeup for my wedding day?

I have brownish green eyes and medium colored skin. I want to know what are my best colors, for eye shadow, liner, and mascara and how to apply it. I am going for a pretty look, not anything too dramatic or dark. I want my eyes to pop, since they are my best facial feature. :) thanks!Best colors and application for eye makeup for my wedding day?
usually, brides wear bridal make up - which includes very light neutral tones (like beige, browns, taupes [at the darkest]), paired with either brown or black eyeliner (typically lined thinly), and lovely, thin, neat lashes coated with 1 or 2 coats of mascara. if you want to make your eyes look bigger, add some shimmery white or silver liner or shadow near your tear duct (innermost bit of your eye).

the neutral (or prime) colours are suitable for everyone because they are very natural (and of course, suitable for the individual's skintone). i'm surprised though, that you're not getting a make up artist (or at least someone else who does make up) to do your make up for you. i'm not saying that you need to spend extra money or anything, but sometimes it's quite hard to do your own make up perfectly. if it's your wedding day, you'd be quite stressed already - let alone be stressed about whether your make up looks perfect or not!

for more ideas on bridal make up, i suggest looking on youtube - there are LOADS of videos on the colours to choose for bridal make up. i hope this helps :)

How should I do my makeup for a wedding?

I'm 13, and I'm going to be wearing a silver dress, knee length. I'm tanned, and I have Dark, Curly hair. How should I do my make up?

Please help! How should I do my makeup for a wedding?
:D You sound a lot like how I looked when I was your age, so I'm going to base this loosely on what I would do:

    ______________________________________鈥?br>

    LOOK 1.

    Smokey eyes %26amp; Nude lips:

    Smokey eyes:

    1. Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called ';primer';).

    2. Apply eyeliner. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

    3. Blend in color on bottom lashes. For color on the bottom (a key smoky eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner. The key is to ';smudge it.'; You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

    4. Apply light base color again. The key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.

    5. Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.

    6. Double check your work and make sure eyes match. Blend color with a Q-tip if need be.

    7. Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara.

    Nude lips:

    1. Your skin is more olive than pale, so it's best if you stay away from truly pale beiges, creams or white tones. The goal with a nude lip is to create something natural, or at least hyper-natural, and something too pale will create a ghost-like, ghoulish and otherwise ghastly look against your darker skin. Go for something with warmth.

    2. When testing various colors on your lips, be sure to use eye makeup remover between each shade. If you rub your lips too much (without a remover) while trying on different colors, your natural lip color is usually reddened, thus slightly changing the tone of the color you're trying on.

    3. Some girls love priming their lips with a dab or two of foundation. Some find this a bit heavy-handed and it usually results in a gloppy-looking lip color, with ugly, muddy undertones to boot. Others far prefer a very sheer swipe of an eyelid primer which will keep your lipstick lasting and lovely.

    4. A nude lip requires maintenance. If you're someone who likes to swipe and surrender, this isn't the color for you. Similarly, a red lip requires a ton of looking-after even though they seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum. So, when sporing your sultriest of eyes and palest of lips, remember that you will tending to it for the whole evening.

    ______________________________________鈥?br>

    LOOK TWO.

'Hayley Williams eyes' (Misery Business) and Basic lips.

    Hayley Williams Eyes:

    1. Apply either an eyeshadow primer or a thin layer or foundation over your eyelids, covering the whole lid.

    2. Get a bright or glittery light gold eyeshadow. You can use a loose powder, compact powder or cream, but make sure it is bright! Try to use a small brush for this step.

    3. Wet the brush. This step will make the color stick, last longer, and look vivid on the lid.

    4. Apply the gold eyeshadow in small strokes from the inner corner of your eyelid. Cover about a third/half of your eyelid in this way.

    5. Get a slightly larger brush, and wet it again. Then apply the orange eyeshadow, slightly overlapping the yellow. Make sure about a third of your eyelid is still gold, though. Apply the orange nearly right to the edge of your eyelid.

    6. Find the brightest, sparkiest red you can and overlap the orange slightly. Then, you can go wild! Only apply a little red to the outer edge of your eyelid, or brush it out in streaks right past your eyes to create a more wild, crazy look.

    7. Apply black liquid eyeliner and apply it to your top lid, near as you can to the lashline. You may need some practice to use the liquid correctly, so a neatly applied black pencil liner will work almost as well.

    8. Choose a black or dark brown mascara. Apply one coat to your top eyelashes.

    Basic Lips:

    1. Trace around your lip shape with a pencil a similar shade to your natural lip color.

    2. Apply a layer of lip gloss. How should I do my makeup for a wedding?
You should wear light black eyeliner with brown eye shadow and black mascara

    Hope this helps!
    au natural...

if you feel the need you have to wear it,then just go for a lengthening mascara and tinted lipgloss!! dont overdo it...
you should put a light eyeshadow ( white or peach depending on wat u r goin to wear ) and then a shiny glossy lip gloss

Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for Wedding makeup/hair?

Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for their wedding day makeup and hair? What did you think? Is it worth the cost? Post pictures please :)Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for Wedding makeup/hair?
No, I'm using Hues by Heather instead. They're the most well known in Houston along with The Perfect Face. I'm doing airbrush make up along with hair. I know a lot of people who really enjoyed their experience including TV stations, Miss America pageants etc. It is expensive but worth the cost. I'm doing my bridal, engagement, and wedding day done $750 for hair %26amp; make up and it includes my mom's airbrush for free all at my location as well. I looked into Macarena as well but their website isn't very straight forward. I couldn't tell if it included hair or not since it mentions airbrush. Either way I think I think it's worth the cost. You only get married once and even though you're beautiful, this will be a bonus. GO FOR IT!Has anyone used Macarena Makeup in Houston for Wedding makeup/hair?
I'm not using Macarena Makeup for my wedding in may. I'm using MakeUp by Andrea. She's very good and priced very well. She has different packages that you can purchase. I chose the one that has a trial session, bridal portrait session (which I swapped out for the engagement session instead) and wedding day. She will be coming out to the location to do my make up. Airbrush is what she is using. It will last 16 hours. The foundation, powder, blush, mascara and eyeliner are all waterproof (thank god). I'm paying $350 for all of it. I am very very happy with the work she did.

This isn't that good of a picture. I took it myself right after I left my trial session. So it's not as easy to tell the work she can do. But it will at least give you an idea.

like brown and blacks and a little bit of whites.

and a nice highlight color, like vanilla pigment by mac.

    or frost pigment by mac.

and some black eyeliner and mascara, and you are set!

    keep it simple

but not simple to the point where you don't look like you have any on.

and wear a little bit of foundation just to keep the shine off because you never know how your nerves will be

    i hope this helps!
    Aw, congrats.

You sound really cute, but I think you should keep a light foundation, and look natural. Maybe a pinkish blusher with ruby red lipstick. Heavy black mascara and light eyeshadow. You will look amazinggg : )

Hope everything turns out good, and congrats once again

    x
You sound so pretty! I would do whatever you normally do, to look natural and not super-different, and then maybe add a dash of blush to your cheeks, some light red lipstick, and just a light coat of pale eyeshadow (either a light blue or white). congrats!

    Pink blusher

Wedding Makeup Advise? I want to have a very natural look?

I have light hazel eyes, fair skin and medium brown hair. Im going to be wearing a beige halter top dress with gold accents. I was thinking of wearing a light olive green eyeshadow with gold hints in it but Im not sure. If you have any ideas or pictures Id appreciate it :)

thanksWedding Makeup Advise? I want to have a very natural look?
Your dress, and your look sounds very pretty!! I think the light olive with hints of gold eyeshadow will be perfect for you. Since it sounds like all the colors will be warm, and the eyeshadow will be light, you may want to add a great lipstick to balance everything out, and have a pop of color. Maybe a pretty coral or apricot lipstick would compliment that olive eyeshadow.

If you are having a photographer, then you want to make sure your makeup will show up in the photographs. If you colors are too light, or too sheer, even though you want that natural look, they may not show up in the photos. You can still look pretty and natural, and have the look you are after. I recommend experimenting with the colors first, have someone take some photos of you, and see how your makeup works. Definitely do this now, or before your big day. That way you'll have time to change the colors if you don't like them. Good luck to you and have fun!!!Wedding Makeup Advise? I want to have a very natural look?

Go for a natural look that won't outshine the bride (because there is nothing worse than that). Lightly curl you hair and put it in a loose ponytail to the side. Put on light shades of pink on your eyes, with mascara and, if any, very little eyeliner, and just a little gloss on your lips.

What do you wear to a wedding (& makeup)? (Females)?

I was wondering what clothes to wear to a weding and what makeup as I haven't been to a wedding since i was little and i can't remember what sort of things i should wear. It's a daytime casual wedding in may and i'm 17 years old with brown eyes and a caramel skin tone.

I want to look nice but feel comfortable and the same with makeup. :DWhat do you wear to a wedding (%26amp; makeup)? (Females)?
Although it says casual i would still want to wear a dress to a wedding. Maybe you could wear like a halter dress with flip flops. Maybe have the dress have floral print or a nice teal, yellow, or dark pink color. For the makeup, maybe just have earthy tones or a shimmery bronze/gold eye shadow with some mascara and a little bit of eyeliner. Then coverup if needed. Hope i helpedWhat do you wear to a wedding (%26amp; makeup)? (Females)?
Keep your makeup light and ';au naturel'; for spring, same goes for your dress. (Wouldn't want to outshine the bride!) Wear something formal, but not a ballgown, perhaps something you would wear to a fancy sit-down dinner out with your family, like a cute cocktail dress, for your age. Keep jewelry sparse and simple.

Oh, and another tip: If you know the color scheme, try not to dress according to that. Once, I accidentally wore a dress the same exact color (and almost the same style!) as the bridesmaids and flower girls, so it was REALLY awkward.
Wear a nice dress, as long as it doesn't look as if you are going over the top.

There are many dresses out in the hight street atm, or have a look online.

You didn't say what hair colour you have, may try and find colours of dresses that suit you.

Also don't go over the top with makeup. Use mascara, lipgloss, blusher etc.

  • How much does the average wedding hair + makeup stylist cost ?

I'm paying about $280 to have her in the morning and before the reception. She's also charging me $50 to drive to my house. Is that expensive or about average?

Thank you!!How much does the average wedding hair + makeup stylist cost ?
That sounds about average. My stylist is doing color, extensions, and then a wavy part up part down style with my veil %26amp; she's charging 400.00 and thats without makeup. So I would think thats pretty reasonable. I'm only paying more because of the extensions and color ahead of time. Good luck! How much does the average wedding hair + makeup stylist cost ?
That seems like WAY too much to me and I live in So Cal. I couldn't afford that so I'm looking for alternatives to get better deals. I'm not willing to pay $75-150 just for makeup like most people charge here. The hairdresser I normally use is only charging me $40 for my hair and she has a friend who will do my makeup for a reasonable price. Check craigslist or beauty schools (like someone else suggested) to get a better deal, if that's what you want.
well I don't know where you live so there's no way for me to answer this question. if you live in CA, that's about right. if you live in nebraska, I'd tell this girl to take a hike.
I would say that's about right. One girl I was looking at quoted me $30 for travel ($1 per mile) and $90 for styling. I just want my hair down and curls and to put the veil and stuff in.
Is she charges 280 for everything or 280 PLUS 50 for driving? I had my hair, make up and manicure/pedicure done for $200 +50 for them to come to my house AND they did my mom's make up for free (just make up though)
We use our local beauty academy

most of them have hair/nail package price for wedding parties

otherwise you're looking at around $300.00

What is the best Wedding Day Makeup?

I am getting married next week, in the evening. I don't like dark eyes and dark lips, but I feel that I should go with one. I am fair skinned and my dress color is Oyster, not white. Any help would be appreciated. What is the best Wedding Day Makeup?
Dont over-do it. You should still look like yourself, if you really want to do something like that then go just a shade or two darker than you normally wear on your eyes. What is the best Wedding Day Makeup?
Thank you for all of the answers....... Report Abuse

How about some light shimmer colors. You can still be dramatic with shimmer and not have to be wearign dark makeup. Also make sure your mascara is waterproof, tears of happiness will flow! Congrats on your wedding!
go light. dark lips usually brings your face down. a little smoky eye with a light gloss on your lips would be good. if your excited you prolly wont need blush. I hope you have the best wedding!
    congratulations!

i'd say a light pink or like smokey eyes to get an intriging gaze

    and a clear lip color

or a shade lighter than neutral for lips

and barely any blush but just enough so u can tell it is there

enjoy the married life! im not saying that from personal experience tho

cuz i have no experience cuz im only 13!

    but congrats!!!!!
be natural don't wear make up

    thank you
    Congrats gurl.

Do not put on ur makeup on ur WEDDING DAY trust me...Get someone to do it for you like a makeup artist...you do not want to attempt this by yourself cuz that day doesn't come twice.
Whatever you do, DON'T do anything radically different than you usually do. I can't tell you the number of wedding pictures I've looked at where I thought, ';Damn, why did she wear so much make up? She doesn't usually do that.'; I guess the thinking is you want to look ';extra special';, but adding a ton of more makeup doesn't do that!
    Congrats!

I had my wedding make up airbrushed. It was expensive but stayed on all day and it was totally waterproof (tears, sweat).

If you HAD to pick one, I would have light, golden eyeshadow with eyeliner (unless you never wear eyeliner) and a light peach lipgloss OR a light mauve lipstick. Then the eyeliner is the dark but not too much OR the lipstick is the dark but not too much.
Well, when my cousin got married, I was the flower girl :) and she went to this hair dresser place.. and her and all the brides maids, and me, got our hair done.

And, i dont know if this is true for all places, but this place had a woman who did her makeup for her. So, if you find a place that has someone to do your make up, go there, so you can tell them that you dont want alot of dark makeup. they will make it look perfect, and just the way you want it.

    *btw, congrats :)
Don't feel like you should wear anything but what you want. If you don't like dark eye and lips, maybe go for one or the other, not both.

Play up your eyes more than your lips. You want your eyes to pop out under that veil. You will be eating, drinking, and kissing a lot. Lipstick touch-ups shouldn't be the main part of your evening.

Yes you have to go to cosmotology school. What to I need to be a wedding/prom makeup artist?
If you're good enough, you can create your own portfolio and show it around. See what happens.
Yeah you gotta go to schoool( cosmotology school)..
I think it depends on the employer.

What wedding day makeup colors would go with a light green dress?

pinks. Soft pink %26amp; gold eyeshadow with brown liner, plus a tint of pink glossed lips. What wedding day makeup colors would go with a light green dress?
NEVER! match your outfit to your makeup! lol for a green dress, black, i usually dont advocate black cause so may women think its there only option but black would go well, also dark brown(mascara), eyeshadow, blues, greys, pale simmery white in the corners of your eyes, it will make them look bigger, a natural look would be perfect for the big day, painted would not be the best way to get married an example

http://www.celeblook.com/wp-content/uplo鈥?/a>What wedding day makeup colors would go with a light green dress?
Golds would look great and browns. What color eye do you have that matters big time
wear light green eyeshadow kind of a pastel color
Light dusty pink blush and lip color, champagne gold eyeshadow.
Please DO NOT match your makeup with your clothes. You want to match your makeup to you skin tone and eye color..never your clothes. Matching you makeup with your dress will look ridiculous. You want your makeup to complement your face...bring out eye color, bone structure of your face, etc. I would suggest going to Sephora or the Clinique counter and asking for advice. Good luck!
    peach or baby pink!! =)

What would be a good wedding makeup?

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow, how should I do my makeup? What would be a good wedding makeup?
First, sweep a shimmery peach such as M.A.C. in Gleam over the entire eye. Then apply an olive-green shade such as Maybelline's Antique Jade in a sideways V shape on the outer corners of your eyes, extending outwards a tad and ending in the middle of the eye. Then add a shimmery ivory (Maybelline's Tranquil Sands) on the browbone and inner corner to open the eye.

Add eyeliner along the top lashline and winged out at the corners. Also line your inner rims along the bottom lashline. Top off the eyes with a few coats of black mascara such as M.A.C.'s Plushlash. What would be a good wedding makeup?
yes, you might go simple with a summer light makeup like these ones:

    http://www.make-up.becomegorgeous.com/ma鈥?/a>

but what's this silly thing about letting the bride shine? she will be in the center of attention anyways! if she's that bad, you can't do anything about it anyway!

if you want some hot makeups, here are a few nice ones:

    or a bit lighter one:

    http://www.make-up.becomegorgeous.com/pa鈥?/a>

don't be afraid to be hot! she has a husband already! it's your turn now!
Keep it simple, because you dont want to outshine the bride.

I say go easy on the foundation, have a natural lipstick and a bit of mascara.
something natural. something just elegant and not too flashy or show offy. kinda like everyday makeup.
    Light make-up
Light neutral colors are always good.....
neutral.. remember this is the brides day to shine!

How do I get wedding perfect makeup?

I will be doing my own make up for my wedding. Im a young looking 40 don't want to look too made up but, would like for my eyes to pop and my skin looking smooth. How do I get wedding perfect makeup?
I did my own makeup. I used a little eyeliner and lots of mascara. Make sure to se foundation and powder and a little color on your eyes. Congrats! And I hope this helps. How do I get wedding perfect makeup?
oh my goodness,....?cant you go to a makeup artist? well, use dark colors on the eyes like smokey colors (brown, mocha) and use covergirl powder for your face that works for me!!!
i don't think you should worry about ';wedding perfect makeup';. I'm sure your inner beauty will also define %26amp; shine your outer beauty. You should just go ahead %26amp; put on what you usually put on, if it's not much, i don't think it will matter. The bride is usually always beautiful no matter what. These days, the ';naked look'; is in style %26amp; looks more elegant than any other type of makeup's. When i say naked look, i mean a nice lip gloss, light eye liner, light mascara %26amp; light on the liquid foundation if you want your skin looking smooth. If i were you, i would not wear the foundation. You only need to look your best during the wedding ceremony. After that, it's PARTY TIME! all that make up you decide to wear will end up oily on your skin as you eat, then dance the night away. So, keep it light %26amp; comfortable.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Go to the mall and get one of he free makeoevers. Not sure if all Dillards, Richs, Macy do them but they normally get products especially for that purpose so people like the look and buy it.

Another route is Mary Kay. Always a good product!
Congrats on the upcoming event. I think it's great that you will be doing your own makeup, but I am pretty restricted in making recommendations based upon your limited information given. If you want your 'eyes to pop' the best way to accomplish this is to use subtle color application that will accentuate your eye color. I like to refer to the color wheel to select the colors that bring out best the client's eye color. For example, the opposite of blue is orange on the color wheel, and using a rusty shade of brown along with some creams, even a little gold can achieve this effect nicely for blue eyed gals that still want a look that is natural enough to work in a bridal setting.

For some good ideas that would be specific to your face, coloring and features, I would recommend that you go down to a MAC department store counter or free standing store if you're near one and book a makeover. The very best ideas that you'll get will be from a knowledgeable person who is able to take your specifics into account and make very personal recommendations. General suggestions tend to offer fairly mediocre tips, and I hate to say this, but any advice general enough to apply to everyone is probably not the advice that will work best for YOU, since the tips have to be watered down to apply to everyone's coloring, etc. This is one of those days/events when you will be glad to have a specific strategy, personal to you, and your preferences. No set of general instructions will ever work for everyone unless your expectations are very, very low.

Depending upon your area and store, it might be free, or it might require a nominal purchase, such as 15 or 25, which shouldn't be hard since they'll be using products that flatter you.

An important thing to decide and discuss, and a perfect thing to bring up at a MAC makeover/consultation is to learn about the different foundation types. This is an event when you should consider that your current, regular foundation (or lack of foundation) is not the best choice for your wedding, as some finishes/coverage level/ingredients aren't very photogenic or best for this kind of event. What looks good to the eye doesn't necessarily translate well to flash photography. During your makeover/consultation, ask about the best choices for wedding makeup and having them match your skin to the best color. You'd be shocked how many people are using a slightly off color for their foundation, such as using a pink-based one instead of yellow-based foundation when their skin has yellow undertones. Ask for a few samples of different foundation types to try, and make sure you get a sample that you can hold next to your current foundation to compare. You might find that an adjustment is a flattering improvement for you, not just the wedding event. Skin finish is such an important part of the overall look, not just for the big day, but how it will appear in photographs that I think it would be worthwhile to consult with a MAC counter for that issue alone.

When/If you schedule a makeover, make sure you tell them why you are doing this, and ask them to book you with the manager, asst manager, or ';the best artist available'; to consult about makeup choices/look for a wedding. Let them know you want someone who will be good with giving feedback and prepared to offer a lot of information that will be helpful. You might even ask if its possible for them to book you at the beginning or the end of the day so that you can have a bit extra time for your appt. By your preparing them, it will be a service to you. While MAC has a stict policy about not expecting/pressuring people to buy things, I would certainly prepare them ahead of time with your expectations and goals because they know that many women who are there for your purpose DO spend a lot of money. That doesn't mean you will or have to (or should feel obliged to) but it does help to assure that your consultation will be the very best one it can be.

Finally, as a makeup artist, I'm going to ask you to be very specific about what you hope to accomplish and what is most important to you. Don't sit there and make someone guess what you would like, and if you don't like something, let them know so they can correct it. The great thing about makeup is that it can always be fixed, so you should say something ASAP. If you want some really good ideas, go in there with a list of questions, and be very clear about what it is you hope to walk out with.

The more information you provide, the more questions you ask, the more you speak up, the happier you will be--makeup is so subjective that what is attractive and ideal for someone is brash or ugly to another. Also, go in with an open mind, and be willing to try something new, instead of the few things that you tend to normally choose/wear.

    Other tips:

    1. Stay away from highly matte, maximum converage foundation. Matted, thick foundation can appear very whited/ghostly in photos. Instead, try a light foundation that allows your skin to show through with the adequate coverage necessary where your skin needs it. Aim for a lightly dewy finish, as opposed to shiny or very matte. There is a delicate balance between this. Also, avoid too much shine, glitter and shimmer in your makeup for a similar reason - too much skin glimmer can make you look greasy or like a big disco ball.

    2. Experiment quite a bit before the event, and ask people for opinions. Try to wear your hair in the way that you will when you experiment, so that you get a clearer idea of what the final effect is. For example, if you will be wearing your hair up, you don't need to spend the time to do ';that'; updo, but do pull your hair up so that you can get the idea.

    3. Finally, definitely take photos of your experiementing, and have a few 'dry runs'. Take pictures with flash, without, and in a variety of lighting settings so that you can be sure you're not overlooking a problem that others will see or that will drive you batty after the day is over

    4. I am not sure how skilled you are with your brows, but another good suggestion is to have your brows waxed and shaped about a week before your event. Someone can have a perfect face of makeup, but if their eyebrows are wrong, it really takes away from the total look and will diminish the overall effect. In the same respect, if your brows look great, you will look better before you put on a stitch of makeup. They are really the most influential feature of your face, I think.

Even if you think your brows are not bad, having a professional with a trained eye to really clean them up, shape them, and show you exactly how your brows should appear, as balanced and following the correct geometry points that will flatter your face. If you don't know exactly what points the brow should end and begin, where the highest point of the arch should be, how wide it should be, etc. make sure you let the pro know that you'll be doing yours for your wedding and you want to know exactly where and how to finish them, along with any advice he or she can provide.

    5. A final tip: When I do wedding makeup/formal makeup from time to time, something I always do that is greatly apreciated by the bride, is making for her a little 'kit' for the big day that will allow you to touch up your makeup and have the items handy. I suggest a good neutral pinky toned pencil, lipstick and gloss, a tube of waterproof mascara, powder compact with mirror, a handful of q-tips (to touch up smudges), a few kleenex, a little tin of mints, and if your eyes get red or puffy, you might want some visine and a little bit of concealer. If you're prone to headaches or back pain, don't forget to throw in a few tylenol or ibuprofen. Appoint someone you trust who will be close to you and reliably available to hold your little touch up kit (sometimes it's the maid of honor, the mother, or someone who won't be far away). I've gotten them to fit inside those little tiny wristlets and you'll be happy you have something that will be easily available and apart from your purse or the big collection of makeup and toiletries. Also, once you go on your honeymoon, you can rearrange it a bit to fit your needs while away from home.

    Good luck!

p.s. I almost forgot. Of late, I've been using Lip Fusion as the lip base for brides, especially those who don't have full lips. Lip Fusion is one of those products that has a lot of hype for enhancing lips and making them full, but it actually works great. I use it almost everyday, and people I've used it on seem to be thrilled with the result. I buy it at Costco for less than the dept. store price, but I would highly recommend that you consider it as a special gift to yourself for your big day. Especially for someone who wants to emphasize eyes, having a nice full, natural look would be very nice and afford you a way to create a nice lip look without using a dramatic lip color (that would detract from eyes).
Have it done professionally. Have one meet you at the church right before you walk down the isle, that way it will be nice and fresh.
hey its your bug day! get it done by a profecinal at the mall, and if you like what they did or used, ask them!

if you want your eyes to pop, i would use a little bit of eyeliner
go to a cosmetic counter and ask for a free make up job. most are helpfull and will do it up nicely.

    good luck and congratulations!!!!!!!
Invest in a facial at a local spa. Make sure you do it in enough time to let any irritation which may occur to heal. This will set a good base for your make-up. If you don't want to do a facial, buy some exfoliating face cream. Look for one that has small, polishing spheres. Anything with ground up nutshells or other large abrasives could get into your pores and clog them.

Use the creme to wash and look into a nighttime renewal cream for your face and eyes. Get hydrated and sleep enough.

No product can imitate real, fresh skin that has been cared for.
I am a makeup artist and i here are some steps for you to help you with your special day. Also you can use any type of makeup that you like.

How to Adapt Your Makeup for Your Wedding Day

Your every blush, smile and kiss will be recorded on film, so your bridal makeup needs to be picture perfect. It should cover any imperfections and highlight your features, while appearing subtle and pretty. Venue and event time play key roles; you'll want to adjust your makeup for day or evening and for indoor or outdoor lighting.

    Steps:

    1. Flip through bridal magazines and search for pictures that capture your ideal bridal look. Keep these pictures on hand for guidance.

    2. Consider having your makeup done professionally. If you decide to do it yourself, have a free professional makeover before the wedding and ask for detailed instructions on how to achieve your desired look.

    3. Choose the most lightweight foundation possible while still getting the coverage you need because heavier foundations will look more obvious.

    4. Wear waterproof eye makeup so that tears of joy or the heat of summer don't make for streaks or smears.

    5. Use various shades of shadow to add definition to your eyes, then add a hit of liner for drama. Resist the temptation to go for bold lines, bright colors or glitter, unless that's your usual look.

    6. Curl lashes for length and definition but skip the false eyelashes. You don't want to risk having them peel off or rotate throughout the day.

    7. Stick to a soft and delicate tone for lipstick, as bold or dark colors might be overpowering. Remember to match the hues in your blush to those in your lipstick.

    8. Contour your face with blush or bronzer, even if it's not part of your daily routine. It will give your skin a healthy glow and subtly define your features.

    Tips:

Pluck your eyebrows or have them waxed the day before your wedding. If you or a makeup artist play with them the morning of the wedding, they might appear red or blotchy in your pictures.

Consider a lipstick that has staying power. All those kisses and sips of Champagne will leave you little time to reapply.

Opt for a foundation that contains sunscreen if you plan to have an outdoor wedding.

Or go for the natural look. Make sure u do a mask 1 a week. Keep it mositurerized.

    ------------------------------...

Apply Makeup to Achieve a Natural Look

This system of applying makeup for a natural look is fast and easy.

    Steps:

    1. Understand that a 'natural' look is one that uses colors that are right for your skin tone. How much you use, and where, depends on your personal style.

    2. Make sure your concealer is yellow in tone since it mutes imperfections without adding color, giving your skin a natural look.

    3. Apply foundation that matches your skin tone. The right foundation will seem to disappear on your face. If you are African-American, it's a good idea to have light, medium and dark shades of your foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.

    4. Apply eye makeup in earthy tones'beige, brown, gold or plum for shadows and brown and charcoal gray for liner and mascara. Skip liner or shadow entirely if you want to keep makeup light.

    5. Choose a blush color that is close to the color of your cheeks after you've exercised.

    Tips:

Choose brighter or darker tones for a stronger, more made-up look.

Intensify your natural makeup for evening. Instead of brown, for example, go for charcoal around the eyes. 'Pop' blush with a brighter color over your usual one. Make lips brighter, darker or more shimmery.

    Warnings:

Don't skimp on makeup tools. Better tools make applying makeup easier and faster.

    Hope that helps.
You could try this: go to a department store and find a cosmetics clerk who's makeup you like. Ask if she/he can give you some pointers (or even do your makeup for you). Take notes, then practice a few times on your own before the big day.

Oh, and it would be nice if you bought something too -- so you weren't completely wasting their time. Maybe you'll find that perfect eyeshadow or foundation or lipstick that just makes everything else POP.
better find a professional in your area

I got a few special products for my sister for her wedding day, it was so special she had widowed early in life and never found someone, since her first marriage was really just family and then she found a wonderful person we went all out for her. free if its your friend...let it be your giftPrice to charge a friend for wedding makeup?
i do some free lance and i charge $15-20 (depending on difficulty) per person.

    where as, salons charge $40-50

    so ... 5 people at a $15 rate = 75 (for group give discount, charge $70?)

    at a $20 rate = 100 (again, discount .. $90?)

    OR

you could set a price by every 30mins?

because, i estimate (approx in my mind) 5 people should take 2 hours (seeing how it is more artistic)

say, $10 for 30 minutes x 4 = $40 for all 5 people (kind of low in my opinion)
I agree that if it's your friend you can give her that as your gift. As for the brides maids since it's more complicated make-up I'd charge 30-40 for each one. You can make them a discount if they all want you to do their make-up. Just make sure that if you use special eye-lashes, glitter, etc you cover the cost of those and of your fee.
