Is this makeup too harsh for a wedding?

goin to a wedding in a little over a week and i have a black dress with champagne beading at the bottom (dress comes to just above my knee) and was thinking of wearing black liquid eyeliner on just the top lid but my stepmother said liquid eyeliner is too much for a wedding and its too trendy and hey look at me (im not in the bridal party..im meeting my bfs extended fam for the first time so i want to look nice) but i dont wear a thick line of it and i dont put it all around my eye so is that a bad choice for a wedding honestly? any suggestions of more wedding appropriate makeup for a 22 year old?

p.s i cant go to a makeup counter and get it done..no time or money!!!

thanks guysIs this makeup too harsh for a wedding?
You can go to the make up counter, because they wont charge you for the make over, I got my prom make up done that way. Anyway, I agree liquid eyeliner can be a little to harsh for a wedding. Try a champagne colored eyeshadow all around your eye, then in the crease a dark brown. Eye line your eye with a dark bronze colored pencil and a quick swipe with mascara. Blush in peach and a peach lip gloss should finish you out nicely. Since it's a wedding you don't want to cause a distraction from the bride, so try to keep your look very simple and elegant. If champagne isn't your color try a plum or even a rose color anything that will highlight your features with out being too garish.

Good luck and have fun!Is this makeup too harsh for a wedding?
that would be fine

or u cud do ur eyes like this if ur worried
You can do something smoky, if that is the look you are going for. If you want to wear your eyeliner, do a very subtle line.

You can also do a barely there nude.

As long as its not hookerish, gaudy or drag queenish, then you should be fine. Wear what you are comfortable with, go and look beautiful. :)
Liquid eyeliner is perfectly suited for a wedding, especially if you are wearing a black dress. It is not trendy, or ';look at me';, it is a classic look that has been in style for the past 60 years. Here's what I would do:

1. Comb your brows, tweeze any stray hairs.

2. Apply foundation and powder.

3. Apply a light colored eyeshadow (white or vanilla)

4. Add a thin line of liquid liner along your top lash line, wing it out at then end a bit.

5. Load up the mascara on the top lashes, put a bit on the bottom lashes.

6. Fill in brows with powder or pencil, this look needs immaculate brows.

7. Add a pop of pale pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.

8. Depending on your coloring, add a pink lip gloss or a soft red lipstick.

Google pictures of the fabulous Dita Von Teese who has perfected this look - totally glamorous. Try experimenting with the eyeliner for a few days before the wedding so you get the hang of it. Don't listen to anyone's silly opinions and have a wonderful time.
i think that's fine. I was in my friends wedding and another friend was doing our hair and makeup and she put on a thick line of liner on me over my false lashes and it wasn't a big deal. You're right, as long as its not all around ur eye, it's not harsh.
You don't want to look like you were on your way to a night club and just stopped to say hi on the way. So wear something light and natural. Nothing that really sticks out or is all that noticeable. Also, your dress is black. You wear black to funeral's because you are in mourning, if you wear black to a wedding will you be sending the message that you disapprove of their marriage? I would go for something more in a light pastel color. Sorry if this info isn't what you were looking for, as a bride that is the way I see things.
I'd be more worried about wearing a black dress as some people consider it bad luck.
i think thats liquid balck eyeliner looks really pretty!!but remember only a thin line! im 13 and i wear it all the time! u should definetly wear it! also wear foundation, concealer, and blush (obvioulsy) and for lips wear a pinkish brown from loreal paris colour riche made for me naturals!http://beautymarked.com.au/blog/wp-conte鈥?/a> hope u have fun!
as long as its applyed very thin along with a natural colour eye shadow it will look great. keep your lip colour natural as well and your be fine
that would be fine, just keep the rest of your makeup simple.
if you feel comfortable do as you like.
yes , its okay
First off - the dress is perfectly okay. I wore black pants and and black/pink top to a wedding. People aren't really going to care what color dress you have on. Wearing black only to a funeral isn't true anymore.

Liquid eyeliner is great. As long as you just apply a thin line across the top of your eyelashes. Curl your top lashes and coat with a mascara. It'll look classy!

Hope this helps! PS. Be yourself.
a thin line of liquid liner on the top of your lashes can be very glamorous and 40s movie star - ish. just dont overdo shadow or mascara if you are going this route. you'll look great.
go ahead and wear the eyeliner despite what your stepmother says, usually mom's are too old fashioned anyway! just use the a thin line of liner!
